To the original poster Andrew,

I recently purchased an HP Deskjet printer for about $40. It included a free
3-month supply of ink cartridges via their subscription offer. HP monitors ink
cartridge levels and sends out new cartridges when the supply levels get low.
Aside from the ink cartridge prices, it is a very inexpensive entry point to a
new printer.

Aside from the cost, the installation was very simple and completely guided,
whether installing on a Mac or on the iPhoe. Once installed using the Mac via
wi-fi it was discoverd by the iPhone and I connected and printed from it.

We can access the printer from any of our computers and iPhones on our wi-fi,
and I can set it up to print remotely.

I can totally recommend 100% my low end, brother printer. I previously had an
HP and could not get it connected to my phone at all and finally gave up. The
brother connected instantly and anytime I want to print from my phone. I just
go to the share sheet and tap print. I could even print from my husband‘s
iPhone on the same Wi-Fi network, although his had not been connected to the
printer previously. I got mine from Amazon and I think it is now like $129.
Worth every single penny! It also scans and copies, although I don’t use that
myself.
