Donna,
Can you go all the way with it even if not subscribed? If so, then I'll
give it a go.

Hi Steve,
Leaving politics aside, that’s not the issue. I did finally get it sorted out,
and the game just isn’t designed as accessibly as it should be. However, it is
playable.
Cheers,
Donna
P.S. In case anyone else got stymied by this, the trick is that after you have
entered the word, you have to tap the last letter again for it to submit.

You're not doing anything wrong. Most likely, the button you need to click is
the one that extracts money from your pocket as a subscriber. Most of their
games are like this. Wordle seems to be the exception. I've never tried
Strands, but there's another word-fragment game I did try, where you have to
make as many words as you can out of the seven or so letters you are given, but
even though you absolutely know there are more words you can make, you can't if
you aren't a paid subscriber. My politics prohibits me from giving the New York
Times a penny of my fixed income, so I enjoy the free games as much as is
allowed. I certainly understand their business model, I just have a fundamental
objection to supporting an organization that has gotten so many things wrong
for so many years. Please let's leave it at that, or this topic will be locked
and I'll probably get a nastygram from the LM.

Hi all,
I know that for some of you this may seem off-topic, but we do have some word
game players on this list, and that is a topic we have discussed before.
Has anyone been successful playing Strands in the IOS app? I can form words,
and they show up above the letter grid, but I’m not getting credit for them.
It almost seems like I need to click a Submit button, but there is no Submit
button on the Screen. I’ve written NYTimes Games, but thought I would also
check here, in case anyone has had more success than I. Using an iPhone 16 Pro
running IOS 26.2.
TIA,
Donna
