You can, but be aware that time machine backups keep growing until the
volume is all used up and then start pruning the oldest backups. So you
might discover in short order that all the space you were going to use
for music has gone away.

Hi,
I have another question that relates somewhat to time machine. Can I use the
hard drive that I back up on to store other music, sa I want to create another
Itunes library on it, can this be done? Sorry for the slight off-topicness.
Thanks,
Courtney

Ah hell, your right. I don't know where my brain is today. Sorry Anne, it is
control indeed. I have command on the brain apparently.

Hi Scott,
Lol. She was correcting the key stroke which is control F2 F8 and F3, not
Command F2 F3 and F8

Anne, that is what I said, but Apple menu, yes should probably said that
instead of application menu. Command-f2 will take you to the Apple menu, but
this also accesses the app menu, does that make sense? :)

Hello Scott,
I think you meant Control-F2 for the Apple menu, and Control-F8 for the Status
menu.
There's also Control-F3 to go to the Dock.
Cheers,
Anne

And you can also use command-f8 to reach the status bar. This status bar is
actually the one that shows the clock, Time Machine status, and so forth.
Command-f2 will take you to the application menu bar
and this again is an OS command and finally command-f3 will take you to the
Dock.

There are two status bars. One press of VO + m will get you to the first one.
Press VO + m again to get to the next status bar. On this status bar is where
you will find the time machine drop down menu.

The only problem is, I can never figure out exactly how to get to the status
bar. I've been using a Mack for a little more than a month, just so you know.
Thanks

Why yes you can. In the time machine preferences turn back up off. Check the
show time machine on the status bar. Now when you go to the time machine menu
on the status bar you will find a item called back up now. A click of this item
will do a back up.

Hi,
I was wondering if I can back stuff up with time machine manually instead of
the scheduled backups? If so, how can this be done?
Thanks
