Go to System preferences, Sound, and select it as the output and input. Output is for the sound, but Mac OS X usually selects the right input when another output is selected. If you have tried this, I seriously doubt you have the early model as the early model has no issues at all with pairing on any computer, whether it is Mac OS X or Windows.
