I have successfully used macs for the past three years and would never consider 
going back to windows!  Voiceover is stable, and works well for things like 
word processing, as well as other projects you might need for school.  I 
successfully completed a year of graduate school with the mac, and had no 
issues.  
There is some what of a learning curve, but honestly I didn't find it very hard 
to switch from the windows OS to the mac.  As I said in my previous message 
feel free to email or call and we can talk in more depth!
