Honestly, programming has a very broad scope. If you're really interested in programming, study the whys, that whats and the what for's before trying to figure out the hows. There are a lot of basics to learn and once you've learned those, you can really pick and choose a path to take. Accessibility and programming tools will be a major factor to your approach. Learn as I said the basics, see if the tools are accessible, then pick the type of programming that is in demand in the market. Always b e positive, remember learning is the first step, experience is the next and then go for it.
