Hello. I also run vmfusion with Voice Over turned off. However, before I connect a usb device, I turn it on. When I plug the device in a dialog pops up asking me what os to connect the device to Windows or Mac. I choose the windows os for my usb headset or the windows os for my mac. I hope this helps.
