Did you try using the tab key? Sometimes, when I'm on a site where I have to enter a username, I have to enter my username, then hit tab to get to the password field. If that doesn't work, try using the web roader by hitting control+option+u. Right arrow over to forms. Then up or down arrow until you get to the password field and hit enter.
