Hi Sarai,

Yes VMware 3 is the latest version.  For some reason I didn't find an Amazon price at $50
for version 3. However, If there are any students or teachers who are interested in
buying this product, there's an Academic discounted price of $39.99 for a single user
Fusion license that you can purchase directly from VMware online.  Here's the link to
their Blog announcement, "VMware Fusion Academic Pricing Now Available Online":

http://blogs.vmware.com/teamfusion/2008/07/vmware-fusion-a.html

That web page has a link to their Academic Online store, where you can purchase
a license.  A number of colleges and universities will also let faculty and
students purchase the software at this price from their campus stores, or from
their ITS departments.

Also, VMware sponsored the costs for the "Take Control of VMware Fusion3" guide
(written with no affiliation to their company) after it came out, so you can download a
copy of this guide without charge as a DRM-free PDF file from:

http://www.takecontrolbooks.com/vmware-fusion-3

HTH. Cheers,

Esther

It said VMWare 3. Is't that the latest?

Hi Sarai,

I believe that the Amazon price of $49.99 is for the old version of VMWare
Fusion. The new (current) version is $56.99, and would ship as a boxed product.

Cheers,

Esther

Hi, folk,

No, I don't work for Vmware, and I'm a blind Mac user. I just wanted to point
out that there's a promotion going on through the 17th of this month for $20
off Fusion. I wasn't going to buy it at $79, but I broke down at $59. :)

HTH,
Teresa
