Well it would seem you have enabled this perhaps in the DOck. :)
If you go to Mail in the Dock, perform a control click (right click) for VO 
this would be a VO-keys-shift-m and look for the options submenu, open that 
menu and press return on the option to launch Mail at login. I believe that is 
pretty much the correct wording for that option. If it is not there, I can 
think of one other possibility, but let's cross that bridge when and if we come 
to it.
