Cheree Heppe here: It's like preferring apples to oranges.
I love the two IOS devices I have, but, because it is a phone as well, tend to use my phone outside the house more than the IPad. The IPad is better for enlarged graphics, but I don't respond to graphics of any stripe, so, the phone's screen is fine for me. The IPad II may have some speed and functionality the phone doesn't have yet. I would try both for lengthy times in store and see which feels right.
