For the benefit of those of us having issues with Text edit not opening 
automatically, I just sent a report to the developor regarding this matter.  I 
assume, of course, that I am not the only one and that others here have 
submitted a report.  Just in case I'm the first, I would encourage others 
having this issue to send their very detailed step by step reports along with 
the Vuescan.log file to:

edhamr...@aol.com


You can fine the Vuescan.log file via this path:

c/User/Library/Preferences (where user equals your name).
