Is there a quick and easy way aside from the obvious of launching it from the application's folder, to bring up launch pad?

Chris.

Hi,
THe Dock itself has some improvements in Lion as well, such as the reading of iOS-like badges and access to stacks in other modes than simply via a menu. I highly recommend it.
Best,
Zack.

I'm inclined simply to use the dock instead of the launchpad, but I may still explore it and see how it works.

Ok, pardon my total and utter ignorance here, but are we *really* supposed to be able to move applications around? After all, they are all placed in the same folder and the launch pad should reflect that folder, right? Or is there something obvious i have missed as usual?

That was one persons oppinion. I just turned on track commander, don't usually have it on, and went to LaunchPad. I was able to move around with my finger finding the app I wanted to launch and then double tab. It worked just fine.

Daniel,
There was a post on this list from someone who said that launchpad doesn't seem to be a very useful tool for blind folks, and then he detailed some of his reasons.
