Oh wow, I forgot about command-r. There is an issue with installing cleanly from that partition, however. If you're connecting to the internet through a Wifi network, the menu to access said network isn't accessible with VoiceOver. Yes, you do need to connect to the internet to install in this way, since the install sends your serial number to apple for validation purposes.
