well,
I used to be able to do that in windows XP with my mac. You would have to turn 
on file sharing on the mac (in control panel/network). as for windows 7, you 
need to turn on file sharing and then assign a directory or drive to be shared 
(sharing item in the right mouse context menu). . I still have some shared 
items on the mac here that my mates can access. personally, I do n't bother 
with it much.
