Hello Thomas, While this method works with some PDF files, it won't work at all with others.
1. When you encounter a PDF file, open it. On the Mac, the program used for looking at PDF files is called "Preview," and it should automatically launch when you open the PDF file from within Finder. 2. When the document has been opened, enter Command +A to highlight the entire document. 3. Enter Command+C to copy the contents to the clipboard. 4. Launch Text Edit and paste the contents of the clipboard by entering Command+v into the empty document. If this doesn't work for you, contact me off list and I can tell you about a service that converts several different file formats into something readable.
