Thanks for clarifying that, Esther. I just did a bit of experimenting, and 
found out that you can hold down the up- or down-arrow keys while also holding 
down shift and command until VO tells you how many messages are selected, or 
until the bell chimes for the top or the bottom of the list. I have cursor wrap 
set to "off", so I'm not sure of the behavior if you have wrap set to the "on" 
position.
