Hi Colin and everyone, No. Unfortunately speeding up voice rate really won't help, at least not for my ear. I'm not practiced at listening to fast speech. Although I've known a few fast talkers in my day. But I try hard to stay away from that kind of verbosity as well.
But thanks anyway Colin and everyone, after poking around in system preferences, VO utilities and the like, I realize that what I was looking for does not exist on the Mac. So for now, I have resorted to utilizing typing by word and for now it seems to be working out a little better for me.
