hello; that's what i want to do for now have a camera in one spot and then have a chair or place for me to stand where i can be pretty sure things will stay in focus. only thing is how to start and stop the recording while i'm at my spot and then getting the results onto my computer. do you use a video incable? or how do you get the video off of the camera. glad your pictures turned out so well. thanks and take care, max

Max, I personally use an actual camcorder on a camera stand and try to estimate where to point it. You might need your family the first few times, but you will eventually get the hang of it… Unfortunately, I don't think it is that easy to get a camera that will follow your moves and always remain in focus. I remember seeing motorized webcams that used to be able to do that, but I don't know if it was a success and if it still exists. I recommend searching on Google about it.

Good luck and all the best,
Emrah
Ps: I filmed and took the pictures at Christmas and new year's eve, and well… Thanks god someone came up with this thing called Auto Focus lol. The pics were not bad at all my girlfriend told me. We uploaded almost all of them to share with the family.

Hello group; I would like to start recording and posting videos to youtube. I understand that i can do this with the eyesight camera and one of the many sotware programs including the quicktime pro i have on my macbook. what I want to do is find out if there is a camera i can control from my mac but have it set up at a place where I can stand or sit and know i'll be in focus. I don't want to have to wait until one of the family can tell me if its right or not. and obviously its much easier to record a video when the house is empty. any suggestions. I'm hoping this will be a beginning that will lead to more difficult projects like an interview or taking a road trip. any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks, max
