I guess I posted that prematurely. I assumed that it would work, but so far, it never has. I should try to do a bit more testing, but I rarely download stuff on the mac. Of course, this is the main reason why: having no way of knowing when downloads are complete. If I discover anything new, I'll be sure to share.

I'm sorry Missy! I had a look at my old Emails and it was you who said that Safari growl would say when a download was finished! So I suppose from what you've just said this is not the case! Oh well back to square one! That was something I was really looking forward to, because it's all but impossible to know when downloads are complete on the mac. So, if anyone has instructions on how to get the growl saphari plugin to actually work, that would be really great! Hi Ioana! Well I don't know if this will fit the bill! But someone else said that they had a growl item added to growl for Safari [funny enough ] called growl for Safari! And they said that with this growl will tell them when a download is done! And I know that in growl you can set sounds if you do not want to hear it spoken! And I do not know if it still is the case with the latest versions of growl but in mine I can add my own sounds! So if that is still true you can have a sound of your choice! That Safari for growl is free by the way! hth Colin On 21 Feb 2012, at 01:49, Ioana Gandrabur wrote: HI all, Sugject says it all. How can I know when a download is complete.
