Hey Mike,

If you want to move a program to the applications folder and are using Lion, do 
the following.

1. Position your cursor on the app you want to move.
2. Press Command+C
3. Open up your Applications folder by pressing Command+Shift+A.
4. Press Command+Option+V.

If that is not convenient, you can always create a folder and move everything 
you do not want in it.
