Hi,

I think that this may require a bit of clarification.

• You cannot AirPlay Mirror from an iPhone 4S/iPad 2 to the Mac.  Key word here 
is "mirror".
• Yes, you can Airplay from a Mac or iDevice to an Apple TV or Airport Express 
for audio through iTunes.
• You  can purchase something called Reflection.app which does Airplay Mirror 
from the iPhone 4S/iPad 2 to a Mac.  The app is not available through the App 
Store though.  Or, you could simply wait for Mountain Lion as mentioned.
