Hello Rahul and Alberto, You can save downloaded YouTube videos in either audio-only or video formats that can be transferred to your iPhone or iPod Touch by using the dirpy web site: http://dirpy.com/
This site will either let you paste in a YouTube URL or do a search for a YouTube video by keywords, and will offer you options for adding mp3 tagging and selecting start or stop times for your audio or video downloads. Since you're both relatively new list members, this is also a good time to point out that you can find a lot of useful information by searching the Mail Archive secondary archives for this list at: http://www.mail-archive.com/macvisionaries@googlegroups.com/ Type your search terms into the text box and press "return". You'll be presented with a list of results with links to individual posts along with a couple of lines of the surrounding text followed by a link to the author's name, like doing a Google search on the list archives. However, there are a lot of other useful search features like support for wild cards (insert an asterisk symbol in the middle of a word, if you want to look for alternate spellings, or are not sure how it was spelled), search by author or date, sorting by time instead of search relevance, etc. Try typing "dirpy", spelled "d i r p y", without the quotation marks into the search box, press return, and you'll pull up six results. Activate the link for any one of these to read the post. If you want to read the previous posts in the thread, use the access key combination of Control+p for Safari. There are access key combinations for all browsers and platforms, so if you were using Internet Explorer you'd use Alt+p to read the previous post, and Alt+n to read the next post in the thread, or Control+n for Safari, If you want to search by author, you can add the keyword "from:" and then type in the name of the author after the colon, like "from:Rahul" or, in the above example, you could type into the search box "from:Esther dirpy" (without the quotation marks) to look for posts that I authored that match your search keywords. Or if you want to force the results to be listed in time order instead of relevance, you can add the terms "sort:newest" or "sort:oldest" to your search string. These search strings can appear in any order, so you can make any modifications or refinements to your search by either typing or deleting from the end of your search box text, then press "return" to run the new search. If I want to copy and paste the relevant post into an email message, I'll copy the web page URL by pressing Commmand+L to navigate to the address bar and Command+C to copy the URL address. Then I'll use Command+Tab to switch applications to mail, and paste in the text into my mail message. For example, here's the link to the post about saving video in .mp4 format for the iTouch: • "Re: accessible youtube to mp3 converter" http://www.mail-archive.com/macvisionaries@googlegroups.com/msg58375.html The Mail Archive address brings up a web page of the most current 2000 posts, ordered by thread. (I used to use this to check list content when away from my computer, before access to the iPhone, etc.) You can change this to view post in their posted order by pressing Control+I.
