Hi, I don't recommend upgrading with that amount of ram. I had a white MacBook with only 2GB of ram, and Lion ran extremely, extremely slow on that machine. As far as when Mountain Lion is going to be released, all we know is sometime in July. It could be the beginning, it could be the end.
