Hi,

A few things that you can try on your TC. the first generation one, I believe,
does not have Dual Bandwidth capabilities so we'll work around that.

• Go to the Finder.
• Press cmd-shift-u to open the Utilities folder.
• Open Airport Utility.
• Select your TC from the Network Group.
• Press the Edit button.
• Enter your TC password, hopefully you have one set.

Now that you're in the configuration for the Time Capsule, let's do a few
tweaks.

1. In the Wireless pane.

• Make sure you have some sort of security set, preferably WPA or WPA2. This
will ensure that no-one else is borrowing bandwidth from you and slowing down
your connection.
• In the Wireless Options button, if the channel is set to Automatic, to 8 or 9.
• I'm pretty sure that in that version of the TC, there is an option to help
with interference. If your BaseStation is anywhere near a wireless phone
basestation, it can sometimes cause interference and slow down your connection.
Check that option if you can locate it. Otherwise, if possible,, it is
desirable to move the basestations away from each other.

If there were any errors announced when you started up Airport Utility, let me
know and I'll assist in fixing them for you.

HTH.

Later..
