The Magic Trackpad is just like a MacBook or MacBook Pro Trackpad. It just
gives you the same functionality with a Desktop unit. If you press down on a
MacBook Trackpad, you'll feel a sort of click which when fully depressed, is the
"mouse-down" action. Holding it down performs the dragging action. The Magic
Trackpad has exactly the same functionality. Pressing firmly down anywhere on
the Trackpad will cause the Magic Trackpad to give a click sort of feel where
you can distinguish between the "mouse-down" and regular gesture modes. So, in
effect, the entire Trackpad in both cases is a button.

Hope this clears things up for you.
