What kind of computer are you using? Could you accidentally be hitting 
something on the trackpad? Or is there any way the command key is getting hit 
somehow when you type a w? There has to be an explanation of some kind even if 
I haven't hit on it. If you were getting busy signals or something crashed I 
could understand it but for you to get "no windows" in two different 
applications when typing may suggest that something is being accidentally 
engaged.
