I don't think Nero has a mac version. I've googled but almost every
software I've seen either is too expensive, or isn't accessible. Or, both.

It sounds like you want to make a ISO file of your DVD. I have heard that
you can use Nero products to accomplish this. However, I have no idea if
it is accessible at all or if it is even available for the Mac.
If it is not then do a Google search for "Making a DVD ISO tutorial Mac"
and try the Demo versions of whatever software they recommend for
accessibility.
