Hello, What you are seeing is the option to save to a .docx format, I think. Interestingly, Pages gives you the option of saving in .doc format, while TextEdit gives you the option to save as .docx, but you cannot save as both in either program, as far as I know. The .doc is the older file extension, and the .docx is the more current file extension, but they are both MS Word formats.
