In my opinion it is very worth it. Every computer has hiccups and problems but the Mac seems to have far fewer. But don't think that once you get it that it will be the same as a windows machine. You will get frustrated with it and want to smash it with a hammer at first but keep with it and once you do master it you will wish you have always used a Mac to begin with a mac.
