In your average app all the files are contained in the app package, thus 
putting the app in the trash removes all the corresponding files. A good 
developer will include an uninstall feature in their app if they're saving a 
ton of extra information outside of the app itself. Generally speaking if you 
got your app from the app store moving it to the trash should be fine. 

There are a couple of commonly used hidden folders where developers save 
user-info, but most often that's just a simple (and very small) text file.
