I don't use full screen mode. I simply press control-g to focus on Windows and when I use a Mac shortcut it goes to Mac, but you can change all the settings related to this. The only downfall with my setup is I can't use alt and control at the same time with Voice Over on. There are so many options, it really is worth going through all the settings and getting what works for the specific situation.
