Hi,

The best text accessible editor I've found is called Smultron. It is available
in the app store and I like it for all pure text editing. There are several
versions for various MacOS versions. I believe Smultron 5 is the last one for
Mountain Lion, while the latest Smultron 6 only works with Mavericks.

I personally use it for my code as well as editing text files like property,
xml or host files.

The cost of the app is $4.99 in the Mac app store for each numbered version.
