Yes, it is in the progress bar. One thing I notice right away is that apps tend to open a little more snappy than before, even on start up. Also, when you come across a conversation in mail, (assuming you have mail set up to display messages by conversation) the conversation message count is given first. Now, if only they would put the read or unread status right after it, now that would be sweet.
