Please file a bug against your distribution that their Xephyr version
is buggy and crashes. I've used some Xephyr versions and although older
and latest versions work fine, there were in the meanwhile some versions
that crashed. (I think they took different number of arguments to mmx
and non-mmx composite fuction. AFAIK it was fixed in Xorg GIT in
December.)
