Maybe, but not in very near future. I still haven't got the device and when I get it I will try something easier first or something more interesting or practical. I was mainly interested if someone else was already thinking about this or not.
If it proves valuable nokia people may consider.
I don't think so. It is probably too late for such change. Once you see shipping maemo binaries from 3rd parties based on glibc it is not very practical to change such core part of system.
