You mean IMAP works for you? Do emails you have deleted in another
email client get deleted on the 770 once you do a send and receive?
In other words, does it sync the inbox folder? I've noticed that it
doesn't which makes the IMAP setting more of a POP in reality. Also,
notice that once total emails reach more than 300, it will just be
unusable since it takes so long for the app to sort mails by
received date.

Strangest thing ...
try the following. Remove all Mailboxes, delete /home/user/apps/email
Then launch the e-Mail app and create a new Mailbox
I used IMAP4 mailbox and then choose advanced settings (do not quit
the config
dialog !!!) and there select to download messages and attachments and
increase the max msg size to 5000KB.
This works for me ;)

No, same thing happens when I run it in pop-mode.
I'll try to see if there is a bugzilla entry for this.

I have the same problem (as well as one with contact list, see other
mail). I've changed my nokia to use pop instead, since it's not
syncing over imap anyway, it makes imap pointless and I might as
well
use pop. I hope this will make the problem go away. But generaly,
this (and no imap sync) makes the mail clients pretty much useless.
Any alternative being ported to maemo? GPE mail-add?

I'm not sure if this has been addressed before. When retrieving
email
using IMAP, initially it will try to retrieve all new mail and will
retrieve properly. Upon exit of the mail application, and
running it
again, all the previously retrieved messages are gone. There is a
thread at internet tablet talk that talks about this but it
involves
copying, deleting, and restoring files (http://
www.internettablettalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=441).
Any fix to this?
Software is 2.2005-45-7.
Thanks.
