Richard, I ran into the same thing and ended up using xset to remap
the key.  Install the bluetooth keyboard plugin to get xset.  You just
need to create a file with this line in it and use it as an argument
to xset:
keysym Return = KP_Enter

 The reason they did it that way was the center button on the D-pad
for the 770 is mapped to return as well.  It kind of makes sense but I
would have preferred to have it be an config option.
