Whilst you're in a treeview mode, how feasible would it be to allow -
on a per account basis - showing messages grouped by In-Reply-To
and/or References; to give something a bit like Gmail's conversations
view?

This would meet https://bugs.maemo.org/2674 requirements.

So, consider my Inbox of a typical morning:

  Mrs Jaffa Dinner tonight? 07:40
Bart Simpson Re: About your website 07:02

This can rapidly become painful reading a thread. However, using a
single-level tree view, it'd be great to have:

  Mrs Jaffa Dinner tonight? 07:40
Bart Simpson [-] About your website 07:02

2 authors [-] [CSSU] Modest tree view mode beta test 07:01

Rough spec:
  * Groups would only be shown if there were multiple messages in
    the folder.
  * If there is a single sender for all the messages in the group,
show their name. Otherwise show a count of the authors.
(Or should it show a message count in both cases?)
  * Groups are sorted by the time of the most recent message.
  * Prev/next buttons move you through the order displayed above.

What do you think? This would make Modest really truly excellent for
_my_ use cases, at least.

Cheers,

Andrew
