This error is related to a db migration that didnt happen in some way. I'm copying kenneth as he is the guy that coded this and for sure can help. If you dont mind loosing you database and preferences, removing your /home/user/.canola for sure will solve this problem. If you want to keep your preferences, please, wait for Kenneth's answer.
