The main obstacle is that the N810 does not have powerful enough OpenGL hardware for Maemo 5 user interface. So Maemo 5 would be really slow in N810, making it worse than the original UI. Nokia is in device selling business, so making devices worse is not in its interest.. :) -Kimmo > > Kind Regards > Samer > > On Tue, Jun 8, 2010 at 2:30 AM, Erik Hovland <e...@hovland.org> wrote: > > I would like to know if it is possible update Nokia N810 to > Maemo5. > > > You can't. > > But there is a community effort to make sure MeeGo is ported > to the N8x0: > http://wiki.meego.com/ARM/N8x0 > > Hopefully in the near future there can be a MeeGo 1.x on the > N810. > > E > > -- > Erik Hovland > e...@hovland.org > http://hovland.org/ > _______________________________________________ > maemo-users mailing list > maemo-users@maemo.org > https://lists.maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-users > > > > -- > ______________________________ > http://geek2live.blogspot.com/ > http://www.geeksconsultancy.com > http://www.urvpn.com > http://www.siteheed.com > - You pick the level of your suffering yourself - Budha- > - Meditate.
