IIUC the problem comes from xguest, which requires dm.
But why xguest should require dm?
The xguest account can be used in virtual console, in text mode, even
without X11, so I think this require is not needed.
If I'm not wrong, xguest is the only package which requires or suggests
dm, so that removing this unnecessary requires should fix this problem.
btw, each DE should requires its preferred DM.
