As some of you may know, one of the developers left the project that was the maintainer of the python package, as well as many other python modules and python-based software packages. We need someone new to step up and maintain, at the very least, python, as it's a critical package. Help with the other orphaned packages would be great as well.
Currently there are security updates needed for three python packages that I'm aware of. The python package itself: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5843 python-django, a module used by transifex (used by translators I think): https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6162 gajim, a Jabber IM client (needs updated to version 0.15): https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5432
