Hi

Every other distros name their debug packages as foobar-debuginfo.
We name them foobar-debug instead.

Due to this, we've to patch various packages (gdb, ...) for that.
And we've to maintain those patches of course...

What do you think about naming them -debuginfo like other distros
do and drop those patches?

Seems reasonable, but looks like the transition period might cause
problems, since you don't know if you need foo-debug or foo-debuginfo.

Well, if we do it right before we do the full rebuild, the transition
period will be somewhat short...

not to mention we have "minidebuginfo" already in place so even
without -debug packages there should be somewhat helpful backtraces...

But I think we'll postpone the full rebuild after beta1 so I can
get a few updates to gcc & binutils and kernel-3.7 headers + glibc
rebuild as "base" for the rebuild...

pterjan is already doing pre-rebuild tests so people can focus on
fixing those issues before we start pushing the rebuild to the
mirrors...
