It's been reported before, but basically the solution is to not use nss_ldap or pam_ldap but alternative packages nss-pam-ldapd and sssd. See the previous thread "nss-ldap missing" from 7th Feb. I set a machine up with these pkgs not that long ago. We do still need to update our tools to cope tho'.
