I'm willing to try this, though I've no idea how to do it - it's something I've never attempted before. I think I have to download a boot.iso - is that right? What do you consider "heavy stuff"? I always disable desktop effects. What is installed by default that I could do without at this stage? If you can give me brief instructions I'll try to do this today.
