Skype was not in repositories for MDV. Maybe in Powerpack but not in
the free/One versions.
Maybe you can use the Skype4Mandriva script:

This script works well. You should be patient but it works! I'm not an
easy Spanish speaker. Somebody to make this script in English, French,
..., language ?
