What Luiz is asking is, whether Mageia makes it easy to advertise and
discover shared resources on a network, and in this particular case,
with netatalk (http://netatalk.sourceforge.net/). His question is
deeply legitimate, the system to interface with being proprietary or
not. There are more and more distinct devices, not all free/open, and
it would be a shame to ignore that and denying building bridges when
it can be done.
In this very case, it depends on your use case Luiz:
- did you end up with a config that fits your case? using AFP or NFS
or else? was it tricky?
I've used AFP and yes... It is a little tricky.
- would you like to check the packages to include/configure if they
are not already? I just see that shlomif (thanks!) just imported
netatalk into cauldron so it will likely be there for Mageia 2.
Since avahi is up and running, netatalk will do the job!
