I think Oliver would agree that your mail concerns only French people, still I think his point was that it would have been nice for non-French-speaking people that you introduce your mail in English, saying something like: “The following mail is about a job proposal in Paris for French sysadmins, and therefore I will write it in French.”. I wouldn't say that it is a matter of respect, for this is no big deal, but more a matter of courtesy. Regards, Rémi / Akien
