Welcome to the Dark side, Ken.
Are you looking for "convert" and "identify" from the terminal?
I find it easiest to install any command line tools with either
Darwin Ports (http://darwinports.opendarwin.org/) or Fink (http://
fink.sourceforge.net/). I don't know what package system fedora core
uses, but DP and Fink pretty much mimic that functionality (I think,
I'm not a Linux guy).
Fink has more packages available, but I find that DP works a little
faster (and better in some cases).
then just "sudo port install ImageMagick" (or im, I forget) and you
are good to go.
As for removing Word (which is odd to have, by the way) just toss it
in the trash. There may be a little residue in ~/Documents and ~/
Library (preference files) but trashing the Application is all you
typically need to do on a Mac.
Good luck!

I just bought a iMac laptop. I normally use Fedora Core Linux. I hate

I downloaded what i thought was the latest ImageMagick utilities
for Mac
from
ftp://ftp.imagemagick.net/pub/ImageMagick/
Selected folder macintosh
Downloaded file ImageMagick-5.5.7.sit 12438kb 5/23/03 12:00.00am
The file is a binary for 30day demo of Microsoft Word.
I was shocked with MS Word opened.
Where is the current binary for Mac OSX?
How do I get this MS junk off of my system?
Thanks
Ken
